History
Short history of ecua
The European onference on Underwater Acoustics has been initiated by the European Commission with the help of three European Acoustical Societies (IOA, DEGA, SFA) and became an established and renowned conference thanks to the support of several acoustical societies of the EAA.
The first Conference was held in the European Parliament buildings in
Luxemburg in 1992 with a very active support of the EC.
Then it was organized every second year.
ECUA is now a self running conference organized by an ad-hoc Committe.
It gathers 300 to 600 participants from all over Europe and attracts an important contribution from the American Colleagues (about 30%).
